Scouting Exp: 11+ Yrs

"My first brush with scouting was in Korea as a sixth grader, when I joined because the uniform looked really cool. I recall participating in monthly service projects and an overnight camping trip to a watermelon farm where we ate the sweetest watermelon to our hearts' content. I relocated to Hong Kong after that and forgot about scouting until I became a dad and my firstborn was old enough to start his Cub Scout journey. I have two boys, and I'm currently on my second tour of Pack 562 with my youngest. Deciding to serve as den leader was easy after having been inspired by my firstborn's den leader during our first tour. What better way to pay it forward and share a wonderful journey with your kiddo at the same time? Through cub scouting with my boys, I discovered the great outdoors and the wonders of hiking in the backcountry. My fondest scouting memories are the out-of-state backcountry hiking trips with fellow Pack 562 dads. In a few more years, I look forward to my youngest turning 14 and accompanying him on his High Adventures."
